I guess I'm back...
New MacBook Pro seems to be working fine (after all the updates and stuff). Migration went smooth - all seems in order.
Though the old “dead” one came back to life just to mess with me but it has since gone somewhat more to heaven once again (or so it would seem).

$2,000 poorer but I have a new MacBook Pro
And luckily the logic board on the old one is still hanging tough enough so I can migrate everything over.
Hopefully in an hour or so I’ll be back in working order.
Will be buying a new MacBook Pro today
Even though I really can’t afford it.
My old one bit the dust it seems last night.
